July Sri Lanka Tea Trip・・・No4

Tailor's Tea Garden (Lula Condera): Primary School Visit Luracondera Elementary School On the morning of the second day in Kandy, before going to Tailor's log cabin, the sky was filled with black clouds that were about to fall. . . After getting off the bus, a member of the tour donated a book to the Tea Garden Elementary School in Lulacondera, so I stopped by to donate it. As soon as I entered the school, it was raining heavily. The classrooms were dim with no lights, and many children were studying in small, narrow classrooms. . . . As soon as we entered, at first the students smiled a little stiffly because of the nervousness, but as soon as the principal finished his thank-you speech, they suddenly approached us and held out their hands. Little hands come out here and there. It was the first time for everyone to see a foreigner so close, and they wanted to shake hands. The only word that can be understood is "Hello"! Laughter erupts here and there, and the large, round eyes glisten like fireflies. . The schedule of 2,30 minutes was greatly extended (it was just right because it was raining and I couldn't go back to the bus...) I was able to interact with the children. A young male member holds a child above his head to please him. Excited to see a digital camera for the first time... The principal said in his speech. "From the age of 5 to the first grade. They walk many kilometers. Everyone is poor and has few books, and they want stimulation. The fact that you came today will be a lifetime memory in the minds and hearts of these children. That memory is a stimulus for a new future.” The dozens of tiny hands I held were cold and a little dirty. However, every hand was surprisingly strong, and they were holding my hand firmly and expressing their happiness. We could communicate with them just by saying "Hello", they would smile just by holding hands, and they would give us a stimulus that we had forgotten. . . . . . Thank you for coming togetherThe book you've been waiting for...Happy handshake
