School of tea gardens... in the Sri Lankan newspaper! This is "AI GAKKOU" (AI school) held in Ruhuna district, Sri Lanka in September. Yesterday, Mr. Ranjit told me that it was published in a Sri Lankan newspaper (it's late~), so I sent it to you. All are freshmen. 40 children aged 5 to 15 started studying at this school in September. A big first grader who couldn't even read until now, "I want to be able to read a book soon." Currently, Kirin Beverage Gogo-no-Kocha is donating class books to schools in tea gardens as part of the Friendship Project. Aiming for 100 schools, we give away Tamil and English books every year, and it's already been seven years. What is surprising is that elementary school students are now able to give speeches in English by memorizing English books. "I want to read books!" "I want to be a person who can express my feelings."
