Memories of the Year ・Scotland Scone Nickname ・Stone of Destiny One of the memories of this year was a trip to Scotland in June. The "Stone of Destiny" (another name for scones) was embedded in the wooden chair of Edward I, in which Queen Elizabeth sat during her coronation, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne. I followed this stone to Edinburgh Castle, slowly observed it, and ate various scones. . . . . I think I was able to find out in the deep history why scones are an essential tea food for afternoon tea in England. There are various types of scones on the market today, but I felt that scones, not bread, are a very important national symbol in Scotland. Respecting that, even in England, scones are served in any luxury hotel, and I think they will continue to do so. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One thing will be the next theme to chase ,,,,. Next year, I will travel again, fascinated by the culture of tea and food. . . .
