James Taylor, 29 years old, 1864 When I took out a book called The Pioneers after a long absence and looked it up, I found a picture of James Taylor when he was 29 years old (1864). It looks like it was taken in the city of Kandy. He has a lot of beard, but he is still thin and looks young. It's got those kind eyes! In this July's Sri Lankan tea travelogue, I would like to travel while reminiscing from his upbringing, which was closely related to the tailor, to his life in Ceylon. This year marks the 180th anniversary of his birth. I look back while drinking the tea he left behind.
