Rain in the tea garden - Sri Lanka
There has been record rainfall since yesterday. I expected it to be a little cloudy from the afternoon today, but it's been raining all the time. I was invited to play tennis this afternoon...
shock! Colombo seems to be sunny, and the weather is good for the next few days. The temperature is about 30 degrees, and it is not yet a full-fledged rainy season. However, the tea gardens at high altitudes have mountain weather, so you never know when it will suddenly rain. The director of the tea garden (male) is called Kangani, and he always carries an umbrella like this. In Sri Lanka, the people who carry umbrellas even when it's sunny are the matchmakers in black clothes and the tea farmer Kangani. A few decades ago, Japanese folding umbrellas were very popular with women.
I often brought it as a souvenir to the wife of the manager of the tea garden. It was appreciated not as an umbrella but for a parasol. . . .
When it rains in the tea garden, the temperature suddenly drops, and the tea pickers seem to be cold. Even if I wear a vinyl rain cover, my clothes are soaking wet. If it's raining outside like today, you can see the tea pickers.
