The History and Future of British Black Tea・・・"Asahi Culture Center"・Seminar

"History and Future of British Tea" British life and culture traced through tea Asahi Culture Center (Shinjuku) October 24, 2012 (1 session) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I visited England in June this year, I had an interview with Mr. Twining, the 10th owner of the company, who has a history of over 300 years. In June, the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne and the opening of the Olympic Games, the mood is full of celebration everywhere. The Twinings main store in the Strand also sold teas named after Her Majesty's Jubilee. The contents of the blend are Yunnan Black Tea and Assam. This blend contained the historical meaning of proper tea. It has been three and a half centuries since the British first learned about tea. Why did England yearn for tea, was fascinated by it, and pursued it to this day? How will British tea life change and evolve into the future? . . . I will think about the future of tea while introducing the story I heard from Mr. Twining. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Seminar date: October 24, 2012 (Wednesday) Asahi Culture Center (Shinjuku) Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku 2-6-1 Shinjuku Sumitomo Building TEL: 03-3344-1965
