Mr. Tea picker, wage strike is still undecided!
I heard from an acquaintance who returned from Sri Lanka yesterday about the tea plantation strike in Sri Lanka. Starting from the 5th of last week, some tea gardens have been holding demonstration marches and gatherings. Of course, we cannot make tea.
This morning, Mr. Ranjit said that about half of the tea farms have resumed work, but those who have not yet received the answers they requested are continuing their strikes. . . .
Tea production is affected. It's just the season for import purchases for our company, and we're in a bit of a predicament because we can't secure black tea. . . Having said that, it is very important to improve the lives of the tea pickers, so for me, raising wages is the most important issue.
