Selling tea and a coffee shop, a wonderful space
Yesterday, I went to Marukyu Koyamaen, which has its main store in Uji City, Kyoto and has a history of over 300 years.
This time, we visited the newly opened Nishinotoin store. As soon as you enter from the entrance, the garden and the old house jump into your eyes.
The space is gentle and spacious, the matcha mortar is spinning, and the scent of freshly made matcha wafts through the air.
This shop is the first time for Koyamaen to have a coffee shop and create a corner where you can enjoy tea and sweets.
When I asked, they actually served not only matcha and green tea, but also black tea for me, which I explained to the staff.
The tea is brewed in a teapot, but after jumping, the aroma and taste are even better, and the tea is highly satisfying. Mr. Koyama always drinks black tea at breakfast, and he likes black tea very much.
"It's the same tea," he always says.
If you go to Kyoto once, please go there. There are also matcha soft serve ice cream and hojicha soft serve ice cream, which are very delicious and have a good reputation.
