1867 Ceylon coffee is devastated by rust disease
As a result, the plantation owners were on the brink of bankruptcy.
Therefore, quinine, which is effective against malaria fever and tropical fever,
Tailor is entrusted with cultivating the cinchona tree, which can be used for medicine.
It led to great success.
With this success, the tailor was given Assam tea saplings and seeds.

Taylor entered the settlement with 200 workers and succeeded
Successful cultivation of tea.
In 1872, tea made by Taylor was expensive even in London.
This was the birth of Ceylon black tea.
