Basket of Mr. Chatsumi, Sri Lanka

Basket of Mr. Chatsumi, Sri Lanka

This basket is carried from the head to the back by the tea pickers in the tea garden. In the past, baskets woven from bamboo or rattan were the mainstream, but red, blue, and yellow plastic bags are often used instead of baskets, and the ends of these bags fray and the stringy vinyl can get mixed with the tea leaves. did.

Normally, it can be found in a cleaning machine or a viewing table, but if the belt of the viewing table is green, it is difficult to find the same green vinyl.

A 3 to 5 mm piece of vinyl was found in black tea as a foreign object.

However, these days, instead of using plastic bags, light and strong baskets made of mesh are being used.

It fits comfortably on the back, is lightweight, and is less likely to contain foreign matter. The tea picker looks happy, but I'm happy too! It is not yet used in all tea gardens, but I hope that it will be fully used soon.

In Sri Lanka, the tea is cleaned at the factory after processing, but after arriving in Japan, it is put through a cleaning machine, inspected on a visual stand, and then packed.

In the future, we will continue to improve the cleaning and inspection of our teas.

The next fresh tea will be arriving soon! Please look forward to it!
