125 years after the death of James Taylor
(1835-1892)
May 2, 2017 marks the 125th anniversary of James Taylor's death.
It's been 38 years since I started working with tea, and I've never met
I've been thinking about this Scotsman for a long time.
Visiting and reclaiming his tea garden (Lulacondera) in his birthplace
and Kandy's grave, the road he traveled, the mountains he saw, the jungle,
We also walked around rocks, lakes and the streets of Kandy.
The more I know, the closer I feel.
It's been 125 years since he passed away, and if he were still alive, I would have met him.
I wanted to hear a live voice.
I wanted to ask him about his life as a man, not about growing and producing tea.
How is the tea that he left behind as a legacy now in Japan and around the world?
You will be surprised to know whether it is drunk or loved.
No, the reason he got into tea was because he moved from Scotland at the age of 16.
When I left, I received a present from my mother that I had before that.
It may have been imprinted on the kids plate.
From now on, I will continue to love tea with tailor!

The words written on the tailor's kids plate
IF THE FAIRIES COME TO TEA
HOW VERY JOLLY THAT WOULD BE
