ケニヤの紅茶

Kenyan tea

Kenyan Tea (CTC) Yesterday, a customer who participated in the Sunday tea time had just returned from Kenya and received Kenyan tea (CTC) as a souvenir. Tea saplings and seeds were brought from Assam in the early 20th century, and tea cultivation in Kenya began in highlands such as Kericho and Nandi Hills. However, it was small-scale and could not be used as an export industry, and in the 1960s, a large-scale tea plantation industry was started. When I went to Sri Lanka alone in the 1980s, I remember meeting with tea trainees from Kenya at factories in Nuwara Eliya and Uva. . He was so tall that I could look up at him, he had a great smile, and we had tasted tea together. He said that he would return to Kenya and make wonderful tea like Sri Lanka. Thirty years have passed since then, and now Kenya's black tea is CTC processed tea, and the export volume is the world's largest, surpassing Sri Lanka. As the demand for black tea increases, I think that Kenyan black tea, which is easy to drink and can be mass-produced, will be a very important ingredient. Mr. S, who gave us tea, is a professional photographer, and this time he took many pictures of animals. . Protecting nature is also important for animals, isn't it? Tea too!
