On this day in 1839, Charles Alexander Bruce, who successfully cultivated and processed Assam black tea, said in his opening remarks at the Tea Industry Committee in Calcutta, India.

"It's been a long time coming. The discovery of tea will bring endless benefits to people in India, England and around the world. I can't help but thank God for giving me this blessing."

It was the moment when Assam tea was completed. .

When the tea was brewed in England, it turned black like coffee due to the influence of hard water. It was black tea.
