The city of Jorhat is lively even late at night. Chai shops and tempura shops are always crowded with people, and shops that sell vegetables, fruits, and miscellaneous goods don't try to close. When making chai, I crush such a splendid ginger. It's a barber shop... There are various smells in the city, such as coconut oil, baked goods, curry, spices, the smell of people, the smell of cow dung, and the smell of chai milk. It smells like life.
