In the city of Dublin there is a café built by Mrs. Bewleys, a tea importer since 1836.
First visit was for morning tea. .
After breakfast, I asked for scones and tea with milk, and then planned to head south to Kilkenny. .
We hadn't planned it, but while we were having tea, Mr. Paul, the manager, came out to greet us.
He talked about the history of Bewley's, the tea they sell, the amount of tea they import, and how Irish people like to drink tea.
A particularly interesting story is that Irish people consume 2.1 kg of tea per person per year, which is the highest in the world.
98% of the tea is an orthodox Irish blend, and it's all drunk with tea with milk.
Flavored tea is said to sell only about 2%.
